Phone straps became a promotional category for a practical reason: phones got bigger, cases got more slippery, and people started carrying them everywhere with one hand already full. The question is not whether someone will use one, it is whether the attachment system works on their phone — which is where most of these products fail and where the choice below matters.

Three attachment systems

None of these cover the screen, the camera or the buttons. The silicone net holders that did are the reason people are sceptical of this category, and they are not what is on this page.

Wrist or crossbody

A wrist strap is short, cheap and stops the phone hitting the floor. It is the sensible choice at scale, and the version that goes into a delegate bag.

A crossbody lanyard hangs the phone at hip height and frees both hands. At a trade show, where the average attendee is holding a coffee, a tote bag and a badge, this is the one people keep using — and the extra cost is small.

Branding

Bamboo takes laser engraving and gives the sharpest, most permanent mark on the most prominent flat surface here; it also makes the item read as a gift rather than as promotional stock. Cork engraves well with a softer look. Polyester and rPET straps take full-colour sublimation along their entire length, which is a much larger brand area but a more obviously promotional result.

Common questions

Will it fit our attendees’ phones?

The anchor patch system does, effectively universally: a thin tab goes inside the phone case, the loop comes out through the charging port cutout, and the strap clips to the loop. It does not depend on phone model or case brand. Sleeve-style holders in cork slip between the case and the phone and fit almost as widely, but a very thick case or a phone with no case will defeat them.

Does it block the screen or the camera?

No. The older silicone net holders did, which is why they went out of use. Both the anchor patch and the slim cork sleeve sit at the bottom edge or behind the case, leaving the screen, the camera and the buttons clear.

Wrist strap or crossbody?

A wrist strap stops the phone being dropped and is the cheaper, smaller item — good for large giveaways. A crossbody lanyard hangs the phone at hip height and leaves both hands free, which is what people actually want at a trade show while carrying a coffee and a bag. Crossbody is the version that keeps being used afterwards.

Which material brands best?

Bamboo, by a distance: laser engraving on a bamboo holder gives a crisp permanent mark on a prominent flat surface, and it looks like a gift. Cork engraves well too and has a softer, more natural look. Polyester and rPET straps take full-colour sublimation along the whole length, which is more brand area but reads as promotional.

Is the phone actually secure?

The anchor patch is the strongest of the three because the load goes through the case rather than through a grip. It is designed to hold a phone, not to survive being yanked; treat it as insurance against dropping rather than as a climbing tether.

What is the minimum order?

From 100 pieces, about two to three weeks from approved artwork. Cork and bamboo are natural materials, so colour and grain vary slightly between pieces.
