Jacquard Woven Lanyards with Logo

  • The logo is woven into the fabric with dyed thread — there is no ink on the strap at all.
  • Nothing can peel, crack or fade, because nothing was applied to the surface.
  • The design appears in reversed colours on the back, which is the visible proof of real woven construction.
  • Thicker and firmer than a printed strap; it looks like equipment, not like an event pass.
  • The right choice for staff ID worn every day for years.

Every other way of putting a logo on a lanyard puts something on top of the fabric. Weaving puts it inside. That single difference is why a woven lanyard is still legible after four years of daily use, and why it costs more.

How it is made

A jacquard loom builds the strap and the artwork at the same time, using dyed threads in two colours. Where your logo appears, the loom brings one colour to the surface and drops the other behind it. The result is a strap with the design structurally part of it — there is no coating, no ink layer and no bonding to fail.

What the reversed back tells you

Because the two thread colours simply swap places, the back of a woven lanyard shows the same design in inverted colours. It is not a printing error; it is the signature of the construction, and buyers who know lanyards check for it.

The trade-off, stated plainly

Weaving cannot do detail. Threads have a minimum size, so hairline strokes, small type, gradients and photographic artwork do not survive the loom. Bold logos and clear lettering are what jacquard is for. Send the artwork with the enquiry and we will say before quoting whether it will weave cleanly.

Which lanyard construction

Printed Lanyards, Polyester and Nylon Screen print or sublimation on a flat woven strap. The default: cheapest per piece, unlimited artwork, and the widest choice of widths.
Jacquard woven The logo is woven into the webbing with dyed thread. Costs more, lasts years, and cannot peel because there is no ink.
Tubular Woven as a hollow tube with no sewn edges. The softest and usually the cheapest; print is bold and simple.
Round Cord Lanyards A rope rather than a strap, printed directly along its length. Minimal and modern; artwork has to be short.
Natural Material Lanyards Unbleached cotton with a matte, textured finish. The material carries the sustainability message before the print does.

Common questions

Why does the design appear reversed on the back?

Because it is woven, not printed. The loom uses two thread colours and swaps which one sits on top — so the front shows light on dark and the back shows dark on light. That reversal is the quickest way to tell a genuine woven lanyard from a printed one, and it is a feature rather than a fault.

What artwork works in weave?

Text and simple logos in one or two colours. A loom builds the image from threads, so there is a minimum feature size — fine detail, gradients and photographic artwork will not reproduce. Bold marks and clear lettering weave beautifully. If your logo is complex, sublimation on a flat printed lanyard is the alternative.

How does the cost compare with a printed lanyard?

Higher per piece, and lower per year of use. A printed lanyard is the cheaper way to badge a three-day conference; a woven one is the cheaper way to badge a workforce that will still be wearing it in 2029. Choose by lifespan, not by unit price.

Which organisations usually order these?

Employers issuing permanent staff ID, universities, security firms, hospitals and anyone whose lanyard is part of a uniform. It is also common where a lanyard has to look credible — a printed strap that has started peeling undermines a security pass.
