Water bottles are the volume end of drinkware: the item that goes into a race pack, a school bag or a gym giveaway, where the quantity is in the thousands and the unit price has to start with a zero. They are also the easiest drinkware to get wrong, because four very different materials all sit under the same name.
| Material | What it is | Right for |
|---|---|---|
| PE squeeze bottle | Soft-walled bottle with a push-pull sports cap, 500-750 ml | Sports clubs, races, cycling. Cheapest per piece and the only one you can drink from at speed. |
| RPET | Rigid bottle in recycled PET, 500-750 ml | Sustainability-led giveaways. Recycled content at close to the same price as virgin plastic. |
| Tritan | Clear, hard, impact-resistant copolyester, 500-780 ml | Gyms, schools and anywhere the bottle gets dropped. Looks like glass, behaves like plastic. |
| Borosilicate glass | Glass body, usually with a neoprene, jute or cork sleeve, 500 ml | Offices and premium gifts. No taste transfer, but it needs the sleeve to survive a bag. |
A push-pull sports cap can be opened with teeth while moving, which is why every cycling bottle has one. A screw cap seals better and is the safer choice if the bottle travels inside a bag. A flip cap sits between the two. A carabiner loop on the cap is a small addition that changes behaviour: the bottle clips to a bag instead of being carried, and it stops being put down and forgotten.
Rigid bottles take a wraparound screen print or a full-colour wrap across most of the body — this is one of the largest print areas in the whole promotional range, and it is worth using for more than a logo. Squeeze bottles flex, so print is confined to a panel. On glass bottles with a pouch, the pouch usually carries the branding better than the glass does.
PE squeeze bottles are the cheapest and the right answer for sports clubs and race giveaways. RPET is recycled and rigid, and reads as the responsible choice at a similar price. Tritan is clear, hard, and survives being dropped, so it suits gyms and schools. Glass is the premium option for offices, and needs a sleeve or pouch to survive a bag.
Yes, across the whole range. PE, RPET, Tritan and glass are all BPA-free. This is worth stating on the artwork brief because it is the first question end users ask about a plastic bottle.
On most rigid bottles, yes — a wraparound screen print or full-colour wrap covers the majority of the body. Squeeze bottles flex, so print is usually limited to a defined panel. Glass bottles print well on the flat face but the pouch, if there is one, is often the better carrier for a logo.
Tritan and glass generally are. RPET and PE bottles are usually hand wash only, because hot cycles can distort thin walls. Caps and sports valves should be washed by hand in all cases; that is where residue collects.
Insulation and price. A sports bottle is a single-wall container: a cold drink in it warms up within an hour or two. A vacuum bottle keeps a drink cold for a day and hot for most of one, and costs several times more. If the point is to hand out water at an event, this is the correct product.
Usually 50 pieces. These are stock items in EU warehouses, so lead time is normally two to three weeks from approved artwork.
The rest of the range: vacuum insulated bottles, insulated travel mugs and tumblers, reusable double-wall coffee cups, sports and water bottles and ceramic mugs. For events rather than desks: reusable event cups and IML printed cups. Carrying and accessories: drinkware accessories.
Everything above is a stock body with your logo printed on it. If the bottle itself should be the brand colour, the body can be moulded to a Pantone reference instead: Pantone-Matched Sports Water Bottles 800 ml. That is a custom production run — 1000 pieces per colour and about five weeks — so it suits campaigns and retail products rather than one-off giveaways.
