A 50 ml shot glass with an LED in the base and a lanyard round it. It solves two problems in one object at a night event: guests put a glass down and immediately lose it, and a crowd in the dark is a crowd your branding cannot reach. Hung from the neck the glass stays with the guest all evening, lit, at chest height, facing outwards.
Low light is the whole condition. Festival bars, club nights, brand activations, boat parties, Christmas staff events, late receptions. In daylight you are paying for a light nobody can see, and a plain reusable glass does the job for less. The lanyard is the second half of the argument and often the more useful half — it keeps hands free for a phone or a plate, and it means the glass is not abandoned on the first ledge the guest passes.
First, choose the branding surface. The glass wall is what the guest sees while drinking and what appears in every photograph taken at arm’s length; the lanyard is what the rest of the room reads from two metres away. They are different jobs and, if the budget only stretches to one, the answer depends on whether you are buying photographs or reach.
Second, decide where they are handed out. Giving them out empty at the entrance rather than filled at the bar puts the light into the crowd hours earlier and turns the whole room into your colour before the first act. Third, order to headcount with a margin. There is no assembly and no charging — the cells are fitted — but plastic gets dropped on concrete, and a glass on a lanyard leaves in a coat pocket. Treat it as a per-guest item for one night, not as stock you will get back.
