At a standing reception, a guest holding a plate and a glass has no free hand. They cannot shake hands, take a business card, or eat. A glass holder fixes that with one small moulded part, in two forms — a clip that hangs the glass off the plate, and a bamboo topper that replaces the plate entirely. It is the rare branded item guests actively want, because it solves a problem they are having at that exact moment.
The minimum is 250 pieces, but the number you need is not simply the guest count. Holders are picked up when food appears and abandoned when it stops; some guests take one at the door and keep it all evening, others never take one at all. For a single event, order against the peak of the food service rather than the headcount. For a venue or a winery running the same programme across a season, order for the largest evening you host and treat the returns as stock — this is a durable object, and the ones that come back get used again.
Two things, and both are avoidable with one phone call to the caterer. The first is the plate: the clip version grips a rim and is specified for plates of roughly 18–26 cm, so a switch to heavy stoneware or to a small canapé plate mid-programme kills the fit. Confirm the plate before you print thousands. The second is the glass: the slot takes a standard stemmed wine glass. Tumblers and stemless glasses do not hang from it. If the bar is pouring beer or cocktails into tumblers, the bamboo topper is the version to buy, because it rests on the rim instead of gripping a stem.
Wine fairs and tastings, where guests move between stands. Gallery openings and gala evenings. Corporate receptions and networking events, where the whole point of standing up is that people talk to each other. Wineries and importers hand them out branded, and they come back to every subsequent event.
The flat face is a generous, unobstructed print area — full colour on the plastic versions, laser engraving on bamboo. Because the object sits in front of the guest for the entire evening at chest height, it is one of the most-seen branded items at a reception.
The festival equivalents: cup-holder lanyards, cup-holder clips and reusable cups with a lanyard hook.
The plate clip grips the rim of the plate your caterer already has and hangs the glass below it. The bamboo topper sits on the glass rim as a small plate for canapes and tapas — the premium version, and no plate needed at all.
It is built for a standard stemmed wine glass and plates from 18 to 26 cm, so in most cases nothing else has to change.
Full colour printing on the moulded versions in recycled PP or RPET, and engraving on the FSC bamboo topper. Minimum order is 250 pieces at 1.37 EUR.
