A lit coaster is not a coaster in the usual sense. It sticks to the base of the glass or the bottle and travels with it, so the light and the logo move around the room instead of sitting on a table nobody looks at. That is the whole argument for it at a gala dinner, an exhibition stand or a sponsored bar night — the branding is carried by the guest, at chest height, in a dark room.
The button on the base cycles through a fixed glow, a slow flash and a fast flash, and the choice is a room decision, not a taste one. Fixed is what to brief bar staff on for seated dinners and receptions: it reads as ambient lighting and does not compete with the room. Slow flash suits a stand or a bar where you are trying to be noticed across a distance. Fast flash belongs on a club floor and almost nowhere else — at close range over a long evening it is tiring. Six multicolour LEDs sit behind the acrylic, so the light is diffused across the disc rather than showing as six separate points.
The self-adhesive backing is what makes this work on bottles as well as glasses, and it also decides how the item is distributed. With bottle service the coaster goes on as the bottle leaves the counter, which is why the bar team, not the door team, should be holding the box. For a table drop, apply them before doors open. The usual failure is a wet or chilled glass: the surface has to be dry when the coaster goes on, so plan the application before the ice bucket, not after.
Two button cells come with every coaster, so nothing has to be sourced or fitted on site — the item is live out of the carton. Work out quantities from drinks served rather than from guests: at a long evening event a single attendee accounts for several glasses, and a coaster tends to stay with the glass it was stuck to. Durable acrylic means the ones that get collected at the end of the night are still usable, which is worth planning for at a venue running the same branding across a season.
Other ways to carry and cover a drink: Custom Printed Beer Coasters, LED Shot Glass with Lanyard, Bottle Carrying Straps and Slings and Bottle Carrying Straps and Slings. The full range: Drinkware Accessories.
A fixed glow, a slow flash and a fast flash, cycled with the button on the base. Fixed suits a gala dinner table, the flash modes suit a bar or a dance floor.
Either. The self-adhesive backing lets you fix the coaster to the bottom of any glass or bottle, which is how sponsored bar promotions use them.
Two button cells come with each coaster, so they are ready to deploy at the event.
