There are two ways to put a brand on a drinks bottle. Print a logo on a stock white or black body, which is fast, cheap and starts at fifty pieces. Or mould the body itself in the brand colour, which costs a five-week lead time and a thousand-piece minimum per colour — and produces something no competitor can order from the same catalogue.
MyFitness took the second route: three 800 ml bottles, each moulded to a Pantone reference, with the logo printed on top.
Three colours, three purposes
Classic black, a bright red and a deep berry red. Three colourways from one tool means one product line that can be split across retail, campaign and gifting without three separate developments — and it lets a customer choose, which matters when the bottle is sold rather than given away.
Why 800 ml and not 500
Most promotional bottles are 500–600 ml because that is what the price break rewards. 800 ml is a training session or a working day without a refill, and it is the size that survives the transition from “promotional item” to “product someone buys”. The moulded volume scale up the body is part of the same logic: it gives the bottle a daily job, and a bottle with a daily job does not end up in a cupboard.
What colour matching can and cannot do
Pigment in plastic is not ink on paper. Most brand colours are reachable; bright oranges, fluorescents and metallics often are not. The process that keeps this honest is a pre-production colour sample against the Pantone reference, approved in writing before the run starts. If the sample is wrong, the pigment is adjusted before production rather than argued about after it.
The numbers, so you can plan
- Minimum: 1000 pieces per colour, not per order. Three colours means 3000 pieces.
- Lead time: about 35 days of production after the colour sample and order are approved, plus one to two weeks before that for artwork and sampling, plus transit. Six to seven weeks in practice.
- Packing: individual bag with a barcode label, 25 pieces per carton — retail-ready without repacking.
If the project needs fewer than a thousand, a printed stock bottle is the right answer and we will say so.
