Most lanyard problems are actually badge problems. The badge faces backwards, or it will not reach the card reader, or the clip has pulled off somewhere between reception and the third floor. Each of those has a specific fitting that solves it, and the fitting matters more than the strap it is attached to.

Four fittings, four problems

Montering Solves Lämplig för
Integrated retractable reel Badge will not reach the reader; clip-on reels flip and detach Daily workplace use — tech campuses, hospitals, corporate HQs. The reel is moulded into the strap as one unit.
Clip-on metal badge reel Same reach problem, lower cost Occasional use, or adding reels to lanyards you already have.
Printable slider Badge spins to face backwards Conferences. Pulls both sides of the strap together above the badge, and carries the logo at chest height.
Hookless slotted end Metal detectors, weight, cost, snagging Airports, government summits, healthcare. Slots cut into the ribbon grip the badge holder directly — no hardware at all.

Why the badge faces backwards

A badge hanging from one hook is free to rotate around that hook, and over a day it will spend about half its time showing a blank white back. The fix is to remove the single point of rotation: an integrated reel housing holds the strap rigid, and a slider pulls the two sides of the lanyard together just above the badge so it cannot spin. Neither costs much. Both are the difference between a badge that identifies someone and one that does not.

Metal-free, and why it matters

A hookless lanyard has no carabiner, no clip and no metal ring — just slots cut into the end of the ribbon that grip a standard badge holder. It is lighter to wear, cheaper to produce, and it goes through a security scanner without being taken off. For airports, secure government venues and hospitals that is not a nice-to-have, it is the specification.

The strap underneath

Any of these fittings can go on a flat printed ribbon or on a rund sladd. Cord plus a printable slider is the combination most conferences settle on: comfortable to wear, logo at eye level, badge held straight.

Vanliga frågor

Why do badges always end up facing backwards?

Because a badge hanging from a single hook is free to rotate, and it will. Two fittings fix it: an integrated reel housing, which holds the strap and the reel as one rigid unit, and a slider, which pulls the two sides of the lanyard together above the badge so it cannot spin. A clip-on reel hooked onto an ordinary lanyard has neither, which is why it is the version people complain about.

What is a hookless lanyard?

A lanyard with precision-cut slots at the end of the ribbon that grip a standard badge holder directly, with no carabiner, clip or metal part anywhere. It is lighter, cheaper, and it passes through a metal detector without being removed — which is why airports, government venues and hospitals ask for it specifically.

Integrated reel or clip-on reel?

Integrated if the badge is swiped many times a day and the lanyard is a daily work tool: the moulded housing does not detach and does not flip. Clip-on if the reel is occasional, the budget is tight, or you want to reuse existing lanyards. The integrated version costs more and lasts longer, which is the whole trade.

Can the fitting itself carry our logo?

Yes. Printable sliders and reel housings both take a printed logo, and on a round cord lanyard the slider is often the main branding surface. It sits at chest height, which is roughly eye level for the person opposite — better placement than the strap in most conversations.

Are these suitable for hospitals?

The hookless version, yes: no metal, nothing to catch, and nothing that sets off a detector. Add a safety breakaway for any setting where the lanyard could be grabbed or caught. A retractable reel is also worth it wherever staff badge in and out of doors repeatedly.

Vad är minsta beställningsmängd?

From 100 pieces, with about two to three weeks from approved artwork. Hookless is the cheapest of the four because it removes hardware rather than adding it.
