Custom Neoprene Can Coolers & Bottle Sleeves – Insulated

A neoprene cooler keeps a drink cold and stops condensation running down a hand. That is the whole job, and it is why these get used instead of pocketed. Neoprene is wetsuit foam — 3 mm to 5 mm here — which insulates far better than the thin foam sleeves given away at petrol stations, keeps a wet bottle from slipping, and cushions glass against knocks.

Which model for which drink

• Can cooler — the plain cylinder, made for 330 ml or 500 ml cans. The standard festival and picnic item.
• Zippered bottle sleeve — for glass beer and soda bottles. The zip closes the sleeve around the bottle so it holds the shape rather than sliding off a tapered neck.
• Tumbler carrier — larger, with a plastic clip or a carrying handle, for reusable coffee cups and sports bottles. This is the version that gets carried rather than held.

The mistake worth avoiding: ordering standard-can sleeves for an event that pours slim cans. A slim can rattles inside a standard sleeve and drops out the moment it is tipped. Standard cans, slim cans and bottles are all catered for, so decide from what will actually be served on the day, not from what your brand normally sells.

Sublimation or silk screen?

Silk screen for one or two solid colours. Sharp edges, cheapest to set up, and the right answer for a single logo on a plain sleeve. Sublimation for full-colour work — photographs, patterns, illustrations and anything that wraps the sleeve edge to edge. Full-colour wrap is what makes a cooler look like merchandise a guest keeps rather than a giveaway they leave on the table, so it is the usual choice for festivals and team ranges. Sublimation needs a light base colour to hold its own colours, so a design that must sit on black is a silk-screen job.

The extras that decide whether it lasts

A stitched bottom closes the sleeve, which keeps it on the can and keeps it in shape through washing. A plastic clip lets the sleeve hang from a belt loop or a bag strap between drinks — the detail that matters at a standing event where nobody has a table. Zips are for bottles. Weddings and corporate picnics usually want the plain stitched sleeve as a favour; festival and sports crowds get more out of the clip.
