A branded collar is worn every day for years by an owner who chose to put it on their dog — a different proposition from anything handed out at a stand. It also has to hold an animal that pulls, which is why the hardware decides the product before the print does. These are built on heavy-duty nylon or polyester webbing with zinc alloy snap hooks and plastic release buckles, in S, M, L and XL with adjustable lengths.

Which branding method

  • Jacquard woven — the pattern is woven into the webbing itself, so there is no surface to scratch off. Limited colour count and simple shapes. Choose it for a repeated brand name or a plain mark on a product that has to survive years of daily wear.
  • Sublimation print — full colour, illustrations, photographs, edge to edge. The route when the artwork is the product and the collar is meant to be sold or chosen rather than accepted.
  • Overlay ribbon — a printed satin ribbon stitched onto a tough nylon base. Prints as freely as sublimation and looks the most retail of the three; the ribbon is also the layer that shows wear first.

Sizing a range you cannot measure

Four sizes across adjustable lengths cover most dogs, but the split is never even and it depends entirely on who receives them. A vet clinic or a training school knows its patients and can order to that profile. A pet food brand running an on-pack promotion does not, and should weight the order to the middle sizes and lean on the adjustment range rather than spreading evenly across S to XL. Collars that do not fit are not returned — they are quietly not used, and the brand exposure you paid for never happens.

Upgrades worth paying for

Neoprene lining adds comfort where the collar is worn all day or the dog pulls. Reflective threads matter in autumn and winter, which is exactly when your audience is out walking in the dark — of all the options here this is the one owners notice and mention. A bungee leash absorbs sudden pulls at both ends of the lead and is worth it for large dogs and training schools, unnecessary in a small-dog range. Rubber logos and woven labels sit on the strap itself and are the cheapest way to keep the brand visible when the buckle is hidden under fur.

Common questions

Jacquard, sublimation or overlay ribbon?

Jacquard weaves the pattern into the webbing and is the most durable. Sublimation gives vibrant full-colour illustration for playful brands. Overlay ribbon sews a printed satin layer onto a tough nylon base — a middle ground on look and cost.

Are these good enough to sell, not just give away?

They are built for daily wear and tear rather than as a cheap promotional item, which is why veterinary clinics, dog food brands and boutique retailers use them as retail product.

What upgrades are available?

Neoprene lining is the usual one, added for comfort where the collar is worn every day.
