A printed wristband carries a picture of your logo. A woven one is made of it. The design is built from coloured threads during weaving, which means there is no ink, no coating and nothing that can crack, peel or fade — a woven band looks the same on day seven as it did at the gate.

The trade is colour. Weaving handles up to four colours; printing handles unlimited. If the artwork is a logo, that is not a constraint. If it is a photograph, weaving is the wrong method.

Kolm ehitist

Ehitus Mis see on Sobib
Flat woven polyester The standard. Design woven in up to four colours, closed with a one-way lock or metal crimp. Multi-day festivals and corporate events where the band is both a pass and a souvenir.
Metallic lurex woven Gold or silver metallic thread woven alongside the polyester — a permanent glitter no ink can imitate. VIP tiers, galas and premium events. The cheapest way to make a tier obviously different across a room.
Braided cord souvenir Traditional braided band with an adjustable sliding knot instead of a lock. Cultural events, tourist destinations and craft-led brands. Fits any wrist and gets kept.

What weaving cannot do

Fine lines and small text lose definition, because the design is built from threads rather than dots. A detailed logo usually needs simplifying, or a wider band — 20 or 25 mm gives the design room to stay legible. We flag this at artwork stage rather than after production.

If the artwork is photographic or has gradients, use trükitud kangast käepaelad instead: sublimation reproduces everything and colour costs nothing.

Closures

The weave and the closure are independent. A woven band takes the same one-way plastic lock või metallkrimp as a printed one and is exactly as secure. A slider suits staff who remove the band daily. The adjustable sliding knot on the braided version is the exception — it is meant to be refitted, so it is a souvenir band rather than an access band.

Korduma kippuvad küsimused

Why choose woven over printed?

Two reasons. Durability: the logo is made of thread rather than dye, so nothing can fade, crack or wash out even after a week in a festival field. And perception: a woven band has a visible texture and reads as considered rather than mass-produced, which is why it is the usual choice for multi-day festivals and corporate events where the band doubles as a souvenir.

How many colours can be woven?

Up to four distinct colours in the weave. That is the real constraint versus printing, where colour is unlimited and free. If the artwork is a logo in brand colours, four is plenty; if it is a photograph or a gradient, weaving is the wrong method and printed fabric is the right one.

What is lurex and is it worth it?

Metallic thread — usually gold, sometimes silver — woven in alongside the polyester. It gives a permanent glitter that no printing method can reproduce, because it is a genuinely metallic fibre rather than an ink imitating one. It costs modestly more and is the cheapest way to make a VIP tier obviously different at a glance.

What is the braided souvenir version?

A traditional braided cord band with the design woven into it and an adjustable sliding knot instead of a lock. It looks handcrafted rather than administrative, fits any wrist, and people keep wearing it after the event — which makes it a merchandise item as much as an access band. Cultural events, tourist destinations and brands with a craft story use them.

Can a woven band be tamper-proof?

Yes. The weave has nothing to do with the closure: a woven band takes the same one-way plastic lock or metal crimp as a printed one, and is equally secure. The adjustable-knot version is the exception — it is designed to be removed and refitted, so it is not for access control.

Does a woven logo stay legible at small sizes?

Less well than a printed one. Weaving builds the design from threads, so very fine lines and small text lose definition — plan on simplifying a detailed logo, or choose a 20 or 25 mm band so the design has room. We will flag it at artwork stage if a design is too fine to weave cleanly.

Milline on minimaalne tellimus?

From 100 pieces, about two to three weeks from approved artwork. Weaving requires setting up the loom for your design, so the gap between 100 and 1 000 pieces is wider here than on a printed band.
