That is a specification that looks simple and hides three decisions, and getting any of them wrong shows up on day two rather than at proofing.<\/p>\n<p>This run was <strong>woven RFID wristbands with a woven label<\/strong> for an event agency running multi-day access. The client is not named here.<\/p>\n<h2>Decision one: woven or printed<\/h2>\n<p>Printed polyester is cheaper and reproduces photographic artwork exactly. Woven polyester costs more, cannot do gradients, and keeps its edge after being soaked, slept in and pulled at for four days. For a one-night event, print. For anything the guest keeps on overnight, woven \u2014 the failure mode of a printed band is not that it breaks, it is that it looks shabby by day three, and a shabby band gets cut off and replaced at the gate, which costs staff time.<\/p>\n<h2>Decision two: woven label or printed label<\/h2>\n<p>The label is the small panel that carries the name, the number or the tier. A printed label is a heat-transfer patch: sharp, cheap, and it lifts at the corners once it has been through water. A woven label is the same fabric technology as the strap, so it does not lift, does not fade and does not peel. On a 2100-piece run the price difference is small; on the guest experience it is the whole thing.<\/p>\n<h2>Decision three: where the chip goes<\/h2>\n<p>The chip is laminated inside the strap rather than clipped to it. That means nothing to snag, nothing to fall off, and no visible hardware \u2014 but it also means the band cannot be re-chipped. Order chips pre-encoded with the ID range you will actually use, and order more than you think: the standard mistake is ordering exactly the ticket count and then having nothing to give the guest whose band failed at the gate. Five per cent spare is normal.<\/p>\n<h2>What we would ask before quoting a similar run<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Which chip?<\/strong> MIFARE Classic, NTAG or a custom range \u2014 the readers on site decide this, not us. Ask the access-control supplier first.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Encoded by whom?<\/strong> Pre-encoded at the factory is cheaper; encoding on site gives control over the ID range. Both work, but the decision changes the lead time.<\/li>\n<li><strong>One tier or several?<\/strong> Colour separates tiers faster than text.
